Moorsee Swim

On Sunday evening of a very warm weekend, our friend Georg took us into the country for a swim. I am not sure of the actual name of the lake, but it is in an area of moors which make the water both brackish and very soft. After a half hour of swimming my skin felt soft and smooth. If only we could get this water in the city.

The lake is very picturesque with a former cloister turned bier garten on a hill nearby.

Because the lake is in a nature preserve, there are no beach houses or facilities. There are a few docks for access and most people change either in the trees or behind a towel or cover-up on the dock.

There are no actual beaches, just cleared areas along the shore line. Families and groups will just find an area and settle in.

The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful and the moor see is a wonderful little gem.

And of course we could not leave the area without stopping by the Cloister for some roast duck and a wiessbier.
