Around the Neighborhood

The next several days we wandered our new neighborhood. The local church is St. Anna's. It is about four short blocks from our home.

Luckily we are only two blocks from and entrance to English Gardens. This park is larger than Central Park, is a huge center for all kinds of outdoor activities and even has four biergartens scattered throughout. Next to our closest entrance you can even go surfing!

These are definitely brave souls since it was mid-March and not all that warm. The Germans must truly come from hearty stock.

At the end of our block is the Bavarian National Museum. It covers a full city block and is quite impressive.

And one of my most favorite sights to date is the Friedensengel (Freedom Angel). She is immense and beautiful and we can see her from our terrace.

There is much more to see and closer looks to come on these sights, but for the moment jet lag has ended the day's tour.
